Hardesty in his studio recording the video portion of the "Over" installation. It was recorded on green screen so that the background could be knocked out a digitally solid black.

In the projection of the video, Hardesty appears to be walking in a large circle. In actuality, he was stationary, walking on a motorized treadmill he designed himself. In the actual piece, the projector itself rotates at a speed that simulates walking speed. Note also that the camera here is tilted sideways. The projector was also tilted sideways, to maximize screen coverage and increase resolution.

During recording, Hardesty had to stay tightly within the camera's frame. This view shows two means he employed to stabilize his position, a hidden hand grip to keep his torso centered, and a tilted mirror to monitor his footsteps. The two hour walk was timed by the clock next to mirror.
